So many gifts are lame and uninspired. A tie? Socks? Again. Really. Some people just can't get it right. When it comes to present buying, it pays to take a few chances every now and again. Unusual gifts are a bit of a risk, but if they work then the recipient will be delighted. If they don't, then the effort will be appreciated and at least the present will be something of a talking point.
