We all like a new start after New Year, so why not carry this on into your home by giving your lounge a little love this winter? The place where we spend so much of our time, the lounge should provide us with comfort but also can be a great place to show off a little flair for design.
When deciding to make changes to the lounge this could include changing the décor, changing the furniture or simply rearranging it for a little change, but whatever changes are made these should be appropriately planned to give the requisite atmosphere for one of the most important rooms in the home.
Colour your walls and furnishings
When deciding to change the décor in the lounge why not decide to put in a little colour? In keeping the walls of your lounge plain yet colourful gives you huge scope to get a little creative with the fabrics of your soft furnishings. If you decide to use different tones of blues for the walls, you could introduce spots, stripes and different tones elsewhere to really add some impact to the room.
If you're a little unsure of bright colours and want to keep the walls plain white you can still create a great impact in the room by choosing a couple of bright coloured feature pieces to inject some creativity into the room. What better way to make a change to your lounge than creating a little energy and vibrancy?
Finding the right furniture
When deciding on the furniture for your lounge, you may be required to make some important decisions. The sofa for example may be somewhere you'll spend a lot of your time, so you not only want something which fits with the aesthetic of the room, you want something which will also be comfortable enough to while away lazy Sundays.
Practical and useful
The lounge is also a practical room, home to much technology such as televisions, music systems, DVD players and games consoles. This means when giving a little design love to the room you need to consider how this will fit in with the furniture.
This is where the concept of bespoke furniture becomes extremely important, as the option of having classic
design married with space storage will not only make your lounge look elegant it will also provide practical solutions for the room allowing the technology to blend seamlessly into your home. Classic design will thus be able to be implemented into the home without any need for compromise.
